So I am obviously not great at updating this thing but tonight I'm in the mood to chase up loose ends!

I know I shouldn't say this right now with it being 'Summer' but I'm a teeny bit excited about shopping for my Autumn wardrobe. I mean, let's face it... We haven't had much of a Summer (as usual) so what's the harm in a bit of forward planning?! Faux furs, slouchy boots & granny knits will be my first port of call followed by a hot chocolate sprinkled with cinnamon and a snuggle on the sofa with my beau.

Speaking of my beau, the house is finished now and we've moved in. Our bedding and chandelier look divine and I have my first walk-in (well, step-in) wardrobe!! I feel like a princess.

We've opted for a gothic vibe downstairs with black wood floors, a black leather corner sofa, black faux fur embellishments, top hat light shades (yes! you heard correctly) and a skeleton print hanging over the dining table. Upstairs we've gone light and airy with white wood floors and high gloss furniture, juxtaposed with splashes of lavish colour and unusual art work. Ooooh, how I love my home!! Our double driveway is looking a little lonely though with only one car on it... Luckily I have the first Bec-mobile on it's way to keep it company :) Exciting <3

Oh my! Finding time to sit down and write things is getting increasingly harder with the whirlwind of things going on at the moment!

My beautiful boyfriend has bought a house, and even though it's not built yet we've been meticulously scrolling through trillions of websites, trawling lots of shops and flicking through glossy magazines in the hope of finding the perfect accessories for our new home :)

Being the angel he is, he got me my Clarissa Hulse bedding (I blogged about it in the last post I wrote approximately 3721 years ago) but we swapped colours for the one below because this version was so much nicer in real life... I can't wait to curl up in it and drift off to sleep!!

We've collected a couple of pieces of art along the way, cushions, throws, a gorgeous black and silver embossed chest of drawers and two sets of the lovely Longchamp Folly glasses that look set to sparkle in the kitchen we haven't yet picked out!!

Yes, we're going crazy... but we intend to have the best looking house in the world :) We've even bought an antique Victorian chair (just the frame) that we're going to get re-upholstered so expect a thousand and one new posts once the house is finished!!

I've never felt as lucky or as loved as I do at the moment, I'm excited!! :)

True colours

Oh wow! I do apologise. I haven't blogged in almost 3 months... hmmm, missed me? Well, a lot has happened since my last post. I've say good riddance to bad rubbish, started dj-ing (woo!!), graduated from uni with a 2:1, fallen head over heels in love & made the most amazing new friends ever. So this is a little bit of a random post about all sorts of bits and bobs but a post none the less!

Starting off with some gorgeous home decor! I fell in love with these bed sheets from London designer Clarissa Hulse as soon as I laid eyes on them. The colours (apart from matching my Nike's... scroll down to compare) are just divine & made of 100% cotton sateen, I bet they're amazingly comfy too... an ideal way to brighten up the looming Autumnal days.

And while laying in bed... I can't think of anything nicer to stare at than this Gypsy Chandelier from Velvet. Having just redecorated my room in the lovely Amelie wallpaper from the Monsoon collection by Graham & Brown & purchasing a lush mirrored French style dresser, I'm holding fire with any more interior ventures for a while... these bad boys (or girls) will be reserved for when I move out & have my own little boudoir to indulge in!!

The sun's barely vanished (well, on the rare occasion it's been out) and I'm already shopping for my Autumn/Winter wardrobe! So far there's lace, beading, sequins and a Carrie Bradshaw-esque Ballet dress and I happen to have stumbled across the perfect pair of shoes to go with them all. May I introduce to you Miu Miu's Glitter peep-toe pumps!! I love them almost as much as I love my sweetheart. They are so so cute!

Last time we spoke, I was telling you about my birthday. Well, that's been and gone and what a fabulous one it was. 2 boxes of Lucky Charms, New Found Glory's new cd and the most beautiful Marc by Marc Jacobs bag in the world. See... stunning isn't she??

Apart from the birthday treats, I indulged in a little bit of retail therapy (nothing unusual there then), a couple of key buys from NARS (I actually look healthy for once!!) and some amazing Nike's. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I invested in the pink fish eye camera!! So... lots of new toys to play with this month... but hey, you only turn 22 once!! Ciao xx

Okay, for all those who know me (and for all those who don't), it's my birthday soon. Yes, April 22nd will be my big 22 & I'm trying to convince daddy to buy me one of these... It's a 35mm Lomography fisheye camera and it just so happens to be pink!! Now, I'm no photographer but Tata likes to think he is, so surely it's in his vested interest to make sure that I follow any passion that I might have for pointing and clicking? My arguement... the colour. His... that films are expensive to get developed. We'll see what happens :]

Bags & Belts

If I was a rich girl, I'd have a Fendi B belt in every single colour they've ever released. I just love the shape of them. This season they've taken a fresh, pastel approach to colour and introduced this lovely lilac version... yum yum!!

On another purpley note, I'm totally feeling Miu Miu's Matellasse tote bag... I have a thing for textures and this is hitting all the right spots!! So, fingers crossed that I find a money tree because I have some serious 'essentials' to stock up on :]

I first read about photographers, Pierre et Gilles, when I was reading an issue of A4 magazine in Warsaw, Poland, and instantly fell in love with a few of their snapshots! Although some of their work can be a little riskee, my personal favourites have a very serene, dream-like quality about them, almost pre-raphaelite & I find them very symbollic & exceptionally beautiful. I couldn't believe they were photo's at first, they look like oil paintings! So anyway... I shall leave you to enjoy them :]

I love you dearly. Yes that’s right…I am head over heels in lust with Jordan Pundiks face and every other little bit of his fine self (all over again). I miss pop punk summers and stupidly low jeans! But alas….one day they will return :] and with them will come blue skies and endless days of old school drive-thru appreciation avec mon amis. I can hardly wait!! But seriously if you ever read this Jordan my darling...MARRY ME?

Okay, so aside from my love life…I’ve mostly been obsessing over old copies of A4 magazine, Polska’s finest. It’s uber cool without being pretentious and for a fashion-dominated publication; it actually has a lot of scope and not that many adverts (let’s all cheer!). Birthday subscription? I think so. It's one of my main inspirations for wanting to go into editorial design when I graduate and that’s not far off now which is surprisingly creepy.

I hope one day I'll grow some balls (not literally) and have the courage to set up my own magazine...I am recruiting now people!! Jump aboard.

eye heart you

it's the first of february already. wow. that means thirteen days till valentines day, two months and twentytwo days till my birthday and approximately four months until summer time!

so what can i say about january? well it started off in tears (for a very brief twentyfour hours) and then the clouds shifted and i'm feeling very much back to my normal self and about time too!! okay, my eyes are still watering but that's down to a few too many late nights with some very awesome people <3

so whats rocking my world at the moment? well...i am totally in lust with giambattista vali's spring collection. it's uber pretty and so romantic. it sort of echoes my current mood...dreams of parisian summers and white garden roses. i will definitely be investing in some floaty neutrals and making the most of my fabulous gold hair bow, although i could probably do with a bit more a tan first! winter hates me. it's official.

music-wise, i still can't get enough of lykke li. i suppose i'm turning into a true girly girl but i'd quite like to disappear into a fairytale and live happily ever after and she would definitely provide my soundtrack to it. anyway, i shall leave you for now with my ridiculously small type and carry on dreaming :] <3>

snow angels

what is it about snow that makes you automatically leap up and start yelling 'it's snowing!! it's snowing!!' at the top of your voice and in the highest pitch you can possibly muster at that exact moment of pure excitement?

i think i'll put it down to two things, the first being the fact that it doesn't snow anymore! sure, it 'snows' but its not the thick blanket of grey skies and sooty flakes that danced around the sky back in the nineties! it's millenium snow, global warming, a few flakes and everything comes to a stand still...but today it really snowed. the best snow i've seen since i was a lot smaller and dressed much more appropriately for the weather!!

the second reason i guess is the mere thought of a snow day! the happiest day of a kids life (apart from birthdays, christmas and easter), the day when you just can't possibly go to school because the weather's so treachorous and the only thing you can do to help make the situation any better is build a snowman and go sledging! i have my fingers crossed that it snows overnight and i can call a snow day....is that wrong at twenty one?! although a snow day isn't much fun when your snow buddy is forty miles away :[ (i am holding you to the promise of an igloo sherbs).

anyway, i shall leave you with a picture of me enjoying the snow....please note that i managed to wear shorts (with leggings and wellies) and am as yet, free from hypothermia/pnuemonia. love love xxxx

shiny happy people & a rather long chat about not much

at this precise moment in time i'm actually feeling happy (wow)! i think it's a mix of good music/vino and lemonade/new lip gloss and a new year!! okay, so i admit there's a few things that i'm not happy about but from now on they are totally irrelevant & seen as i'm a leeettle bit tipsy, i'm in my daydreaming state of mind (which is quite a regular occurence!!). i do believe that i am a massive dreamer...but what fun would life be without dreams?! i actually sometimes look forward to going to bed just so that i can fall asleep and escape into dreamland...i remember pretty much every one i have rather vividly, i think it's a gift...remembering what your brain has been unconciously narrating and then making sense of it. having said that...if i've been dreaming about zombies, then i'd rather forget about it!! zombies scare me...but i've got a plan to escape them all (come on people, one day it could happen and one has to be prepared!).

i would like to move to polska one day soon and have a nice eastern european life...beautiful apartment, nice people and muchos wodka and make a cd full of all my favourite songs and just dance around to it all day with someone special who will write me letters and bring me krispy kreme donuts :] then i'd like to learn how to play chess properly and go and battle all the old polski grandads on the riverside and beat them into submission (gently...i wouldn't want to cause any premature deaths). the sky would always be blue and the pigeon man would always be selling his 5zloty cups of pigeon cereal and hot chocolates would always contain lots of liqueur.
